PostSubject: Clothes drawing   Sun May 06, 2012 7:34 pm

I have never tried clothes drawing before and this is my first. I really need some constructive criticism as to what else I need to do to make this better...obviously the shading/highlights What else?

It's not bad...Actually its pretty good, especially since its your first. To make it more realistic, you need to use more than one color's shades and tints. If you do this, combined with more intense shading, I think you'll be pretty awesome. Your shape is pretty good; just remember when clothes conform to someone's body there tends to be wrinkles and stretched areas

Wow anitat. You did a great job for your first time. I would say the clothing needs to be a bit tighter around the chest area and the right side. It looks really big for her. And the shading done in the chest area also makes the bewbies look to be sagging.

Though I must say that is a million times better than anything I could do for my first time, so I tip my hat to you

And Ballz Monks, your new avi is so awesomely Creepy and freaky! <33

No problemo!

And Thanks! I was making it for my mom for her facebook avi, cuz she still has the christmas one I made her. She didn't like this one, so I made her another one. I should prolly post it in before and after. She didn't like how I edited it, but I loves it! I'll be using it after I tire of this one. Or I may upload her to the officials.

Good job anitat! I agree with Monks and LE on making it tighter around the body and focusing on wrinkles and stretched areas. Some tipes that I find helpful are
1. When you have the base done, use a much darker shade of the base colour and a much lighter shade on different layers instead of dodging and burning. Play around with opacity and gaussian blur, then when you've finished merge all the layers and and dodge and burn over bits of them.
2. For more texture, use sharpen on a very low setting. It just adds texture for some reason.

Cool! Thanks everyone! The only reason it was kind of big was I was going for loose instead of fitting. I guess it would still hang differently on her body, though, right??? Will put all these wonderful tips to good use and.....thanks again for all of your helpful tips
