Eyeshadow Tutorial - GIMP

Step 1.
Open the image you will be working with in GIMP. I am using a rather large set of eyes photo.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 2.
You will now need to "Add new Layer" and Select the (Fuzzy circle brush) along with the color eyeshadow you will be applying. I am using black because it's bold and I wear it everyday irl. It's one of my favorite color eye shadows.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 3.
Now grab your fuzzy circle brush and you will start the application process of the eye shadow. I am going to do a basic application here with just an upper eye demonstration. You can apply however you like. This is the shape I have done.

Step 4.
You will now need to use the "Gaussian blur" effect by going to Filters>Blur>Gaussian blur. With this being a rather large image, I will be setting my blur effect to a higher setting for this specific edit. So I have set the blur to 25% Depending on how heavy or light you want your eye shadow will determine how much blur you use.

Step 5.
Grab your Eraser tool and gently run it over the eyeball area, You want to make sure you erase any run over eyeshadow that may have gotten on the eye area.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 6.
You will need to now "Add New layer" again. We will be adding a light shine to the inner area of the eye. This will give the eyeshadow a less flat appearance. Once you have added new layer, grab your fuzzy brush circle again and select the color "WHITE".
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 7.
I will make my fuzzy circle brush a tad smaller and now apply a small stoke of white to the inner eye area.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 8.
Once you have applied the small amount of white to the inner part of the eye, You will need to repeat the Gaussian blur effect once again. I will use the same percentage as last time because I want the white to be very faded.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Step 9.
Once you have Blurred the white eye shadow, I will now play with the "OPACITY" slider in the Layers Box. I will move it to about 50% to make the white just a tad less dramatic.

Step 10.
Now that your eyeshadow is complete. You can add eye lashes to finish off the look. You can find how to apply eye lashes here - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I think Skin smoothing/Shading is the best to start with. Its always the very first edit I do on a photo

I was browsing the tutorial stuff on here a few days ago, and, well, even though there aren't any pictures, I kind of used the general tutorial for the eyeshadow in this pic...

I did some other editing as well.

Looks great! I am not sure why the images are not appearing. I have noticed that the hosting site I used for the images has been known to go MIA in the past ><
I will have to see if I have the pics still and update the thread.
