Models, Inc. Cycle 2 - Assignment 5 judging in progress Empty Models, Inc. Cycle 2 - Assignment 5 judging in progress

Hello guys! I'm feeling like a slacker with only 2 competitions going. I hope to see some interested people joining this one! It's sure to be fun!!!

This is the second cycle of my one and only Advertisement Competition! Cycle One took place quite a while ago, but it was a lot of fun and people created some really stunning ads. Even those who thought they had no talent in the editing department shined brightly!!

This is a pretty straight-forward competition. It's all about creating Advertisements based on a specific theme. Your model will be vying to be Models, Inc.'s next face of advertising and will have to submit a photo each round to build their portfolio. At the end of the cycle, the two remaining contestants will not only compete with the judges, but the public will get a chance to cast their votes on their favorite model based on a gathered portfolio!

This is sure to be a fun one and not too intense, so sign up!

Due to the kinds of assignments we're doing, female models are recommended. If you have your heart set on using a male model, some things will need to be modified as we go through, so keep that in mind!

Only 2 days MAX extensions are allowed - you must ask for one at
least 24 hours in advanced
Assignments last 7 days
Deadlines are set at Pacific Standard Times - adjust accordingly
Please don't drop - if you are too busy or think you will drop, DON'T SIGN UP!

ADVERTISEMENT #5: HOT ROD AD

Here we are at round 5!!

You are all doing so well! I'm excited to see what you do with the next assignment.

Okay, so here's what's going to happen...You will receive a PM with a link to a specific car you are assigned. Your job is to create a car ad to sell your given car. You have free reign over the theme you go with and whether or not you want to use a real car brand or a fake one.

The rules are simple: Keep your assigned car to yourself until you submit, Dress your model in something sexy and fun in colors that contrast the color of your car, Photograph the entire car and your model at full length.

*You are allowed to make up a company name OR use a real life one.

REQUIREMENTS
ONE Image
NO BORDERS NECESSARY
Car Brand Name
FULL Body Shot
Catchy Contrasting Colors
Sexy & Fun Vibes

*See example photo for inspiration*

EXAMPLE:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
DEADLINE: MARCH 29TH @ 9PM PST
SINGLE-ELIMINATION ROUND

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Scoring will be done pretty much the same as any other competition. You will get comments from the judges as well as a score using the scoring rubric below.

*One difference in this competition is that we will have an open round of voting for every assignment. You and your friends will be able to vote for your photos while judging is in progress. The one with the highest votes each round will have 5 points added to their overall score.

Scoring Rubric
Photo Quality: /10
Ad Presentation: /10
Creativity: /15
Requirements Met: /5
Product Placement: /5
Personal Preference: /5
Total: /50

Scoring Breakdown
Photo Quality: A good ad is a clean and crisp ad. Your graphics settings should be set to high when taking modeling photos, so make sure you pay attention to clipping, pixelation, and any other flaws in your photo.
Ad Presentation: A good ad will be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It should capture our attention in a good way and give us enough to look at that we're sold on the product.
Creativity: You'll see this is the highest category on the rubric. That's because we want you to be creative. If you think outside the box, you will more than likely impress the judges. If you use a real life company in your ads, be creative and don't copy an exact ad already in existence.
Requirements Met: There are requirements every round, just follow them and you're fine!
Product Placement: Every ad needs to showcase whatever its selling. Nothing is more frustrating to a viewer than trying to figure out what the heck is being sold. Make sure you place your product in a pleasing way.
Personal Preference: Judges have their personal tastes and I think it should be incorporated into the scores. So, that's what this is all about.

FIRST, SOME WORDS FROM BEECH:

Beautiful lingerie ads everyone! I loved seeing what you did with this simple assignment. But remember, don't let simplicity kill your creativity! Always push yourself to do better and to think outside that box!

Judges are human. If we make a mistake, just nicely let me know. If you have any questions, feel free to ask respectfully and I'm sure either of us will be glad to answer you!

This was a SINGLE-ELIMINATION round. With Kylee No-Showing, we lose no one else.

Ooooh, you did a wonderful job. I love that lingerie and your use of editing really was so great! I liked the whole feel about this and how its simplicity works really well to sell the product. I see one issue…her reflection looks transparent, at least form her elbow down. I say this because it looks like you can see the couch pattern through her skin. Otherwise, nicely done!

Your model is gorgeous! Those long, long legs with stilettos really showcase her great figure and beautiful lingerie. The color pops against her skin and hair, which draws your eye to it. Your hair drawing is amazing, so no worries on that. The quality of your model overall is a little too blurred, and I do think her facial expression seems a little bland for a sultry feel, but overall this is wonderful!

Ooooh look at Renata striking the Titanic pose  love it! You did a really good job with this round. Renata looks stunning and sensual, the lingerie is beautiful, and you did a pretty good job with the brand name placement. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of cropping off at her knees, but it didn’t totally kill the shot. Good work this round.

Your model definitely conveys a sensual feel in some really sexy lingerie! I do feel like she is channeling Rose from the Titanic, which isn’t a bad thing. Great attention to detail in how the nails, lingerie and those luscious lips bring the red together but doesn’t overpower. The settee is perfect for this setting and the background is simple but elegant.

I really like this ad, Bookie. You have improved quite a bit and we’re only in the 4th assignment! Amara looks fun and playful and that lingerie was a good choice. I really like how you used the mirror to show the extra in a suggestive situation. I love all the colors except for the flowers in the window and the font color. The flowers are nice, but since you have a very dark motif going on with the blacks and reds and deep pinks, the brightness of the flowers throws off the whole feel. Secondly, the font should have been something flowy and cursive to keep the sexy feel going throughout. However, you did well.

Amara looks so beautiful and sultry here, just like the product name! I love the lingerie and that pose just really sells it, I just wish she wasn’t so cut off facing the viewer. The mirror image is great and the model in the background is a nice addition, but overall the background just seems too busy to me. Maybe covering up the window completely with curtains would have had a better effect putting even more focus on your model.

I love Leanne. She’s just so beautiful. Your photos are always very nicely done. This is no exception. It’s not one of your most exciting entries, but it’s still beautiful. Don’t you hate what curtains do to hair? You have some rough edges and the pose isn’t that exciting…not sure how I feel about cropping where you did either, but for the most part you did a very beautiful job.

Wow, that lingerie is gorgeous and your model sells it well! I like the colors and the curtain, though I think a maybe red curtain would have blended better with your color scheme. Her pose doesn’t really sell the sensual vibe to me and her facial expression seems almost bored. I love your attention to detail with her accessories, makeup and nails though!

This is a really nice ad. You did a great job making an ad that looks like what Calvin Klein ads look like. I like the eye contact a lot and that pose demands attention! I am not getting a sensual vibe, but rather a domineering sexy one, but it wasn’t too far off. You do have several white edges left around your model – especially in her hair area. Good work overall though.

She has that eye contact to really draw the viewer in! Her look is wowing and the lingerie is gorgeous and sexy but her pose is more dynamic than sensual. I do like the simple setting but a different color background would have made more of an impact. Her hair also has some white where you cutting and pasting. Great job though after your graphic card issues!

This was a fun and creative idea. I liked the color scheme and I love the petals on the floor – even if they look a little too big in comparison to Melody! I love the pose and think you did a really great job. The photo could have been cropped a bit tighter to get rid of the excess empty space on the right and the shading behind the lettering really wasn’t that necessary. It just doesn’t work that well. Good work this round!

This was a wonderful idea with all of those petals and roses strewn around your model! The colors of those and the lingerie really mesh so well together. I do think her pose seems a little more serene than sultry and doesn’t mesh as well with the product name. I almost imagine her slinking across the floor instead of lying on it! This was a big improvement, Pri!

The pose works for the facial expression. I like the pleased look on her face and it does add to the sensual aspect we were looking for. I also adore all the black and purple going on. Those are very sexy colors. Okay, so down to the “not so appealing” qualities…firstly, while that pose does wonders for the face, it really seems to cause an issue with the rest of her body. Alice’s stomach looks sooooo scary here and her ankles are very lumpy (something that could have been smoothed in editing). The pose also makes her sit awkwardly on that lounge chair since she doesn’t really fit. Your Vera Wang brand name and the “princess” part aren’t that exciting or nicely placed. They seem almost like an afterthought with all the craziness around her and then the font…just smack dab there and not the most exciting of fonts.

I love the pose for your model as if she is feeling sensual in that beautiful lingerie! Her stomach looks a little awkward with that pose, though, so not sure if a different angle would have worked better. The purple is a great color as a backdrop behind her. I do feel that her positioning on the bed looks a bit uncomfortable with her hands leaning on the books and there is just a little too much going on around her, which takes away from the feel of the ad.
