Ummmm well I looked up some tutorials on shattering effects. Needless to say...NONE of them worked out for me and I did not like how they looked with my photo. Not to mention all the tutorials are done with solid colored backgrounds which makes it more difficult when you have an actual scene.

SOOOOO...I took my model, edited her, drew hair on her and made her like I like it. When I have to remove a sim from a background and actually paste her on another background (assuming it is a sim bg) I take a shot of the model where I would want her to be (in game) so I know the size placement and where I should take the shot at of the background without her in it. I dont like re sizing a sim if I dont have to because then it can pixelate or make the quality less than it should be. Soo I take one shot of her in the background and then another on a white background. I then remove her from the background scene and take another shot of the background with NO sim in which is what I will paste her on. I do this to make sure I get the model fitting the background properly and she doesnt look to big or too small.

SOO I pasted her onto the new background as a new layer, then made my own shatter effect brush and set it too "Jitter" so I then removed parts of her body with the brush I made. I then took my eyedrop tool and grabbed the color of the skin, shirt, hair and shoe and then applied small amounts off the body to give the effect of the shatter and as if it is falling off her. Filters and stuff are just layers I play with and set to "Difference" or "Overlay" and then change the opactity

Wow, that's very descriptive, thanks! I have to start to learn to play with gimp, and to do that, I think I have to understand a wide array of stuff on gimp. I dl'ed some awesome cloud brushes the other day, so I'll have to make a pic utilizing that brush sometime!

Oops almost forgot. Amazing picture Beech! My computer isn't working so I'm very jelous of your editing ;_; but that hair drawing is spectacular.

Everytime I look at this thread my jaw falls off.
I did a little more hair drawing, and I need to get out of the habit of being lazy because I used a headshot Bliss provided for a tut for this drawing

This is an Assignment for a competition back at the Facebook Community.
The theme was "The Four Seasons"; I got assigned Autumn.. :D

Here I tried to portray the sim, Ella, bringing Autumn with her... She causes the leaves begin to fall, and surround her.. She creates the rain.. She calls over the animals...

The Entire dress was Hand drawn by me.. Along with some other factors in this image.. :D

The hand didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I worked on it for a long time after scraping a couple other attempts completely.

Oh wow Death, that is very dramatic. When I was scrolling down, at first I thought she was shooting herself. Nice fixes to her hair and expression!
