» PROLOGUE - This series follows Brie Rainwater, an aspiring Business Woman who moves to the big city known to the Sim World as... Bridgeport. Bridgeport is known for it's stunning skyscrapers and dynamic night-life... and is truly the place where dreams are made of. Prior to moving to the city, Brie lived in the suburb town Sunset Valley. But after leaving high-school, she chose to start fresh in the concrete jungle where she will try to make a life for herself. Follow Brie as she makes friends and gains foes, she works to try and make something of herself, she searches high and low for Mr Right, and jump on the rollercoaster ride with her.

Bright Lights Bigger City

As the taxi crosses over the famous bridge leading into bridgeport, Brie shifts in her seat to get a closer view, her jaw dropping.
"Oh wow, it's exactly like on the brochure!"
"This is nothing, you should really check out the Bio-dome down on the north coast of the island. It really is beautiful."
"Noted".

Brie smiles to the taxi-driver in his mirror. He has a warm face, so far, so good. Everyone seems nice.
"My parents had their honeymoon in a penthouse suite on this island. The photos are gorgeous."
"Bridgeport is most famous for it's penthoues. What accomodation will you be staying in, Miss?"
"I... totally forgot about that. Oh my god, what am I going to do? I've got nowhere to stay! How could I be so foolish"
"Calm down, calm down. I'll drop you off at the square in the middle of town, theres a real estate office not far."

As Brie exits the taxi at what the taxi driver called 'the Square', Brie's cell begins to ring. Trying to remember what the taxi-man said, she takes the call.
"Down the street, first left, right, remember Brie."

"Dad! Thank god! You ne -"
"Calm down princess, you don't think I would of let you out to the big city without making sure you had everything booked would you?"
"You mean... you've got me a place?"
"You bet. You need to get a taxi to 31 Oaken Lane. I left the keys with a friend of your sisters, her name is Maisy, she's expecting you."
"Thanks daddy, I owe you."

Brie turns her attention to the street, opening her mouth widely.
"TAXI! 31 OAKEN LANE, AND STEP ON IT!"

A fifteen minute drive later, Brie pulls up at 31 Oaken Lane. The house is located on the quiet part of the island which seems to be populated with mostly families. Maisy is outside her house, so Brie walks over and engages in conversation.
"Your Brie, I presume?"

"Are you Maisy?"
"I sure am, your Melissa's sister right?"
"Yeah I am!"

"I haven't seen your sister in years, since high-school! So what brings you to Bridgeport?"
"Wanted to get away, make a life of my own."
"That's why I moved here, so if you ever need to talk, just give me a call. Come inside and I'll get the keys."

"Wow, your place is lovely."
"Thanks, I actually just moved here. I used to live right in the center of the city, a little place just off the Square. I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle though."

"Here are the keys to your room, and this is the code for the lift."
"Lift? Wow, that must be some hip place."
"It sure is, it's actually my old apartment."

"Thanks for everything Maisy"
"Be sure to give me a call when you've settled in."
"Will do"

Maisy jumps in the first taxi to drive past, and hands the address to the driver. They begin to drive away from the suburb part of the island and back into the city. The driver abruptly says
"Well, this is it."
"Huh?"

Brie climbs out and walks over the building indicated by the driver. She had no idea she'd be living in a skyscraper! She had such little expectations of a small cottage or shack or something! This beats all of it!

Brie looks up and down at the huge building, and takes a deep breath. She walks up to the large doors and enters.

Clambering into the lift, she hits the button to 14... the top floor... surely theres some mistake?! Penthouse?!

Clutching the key Maisy gave her tightly, she makes her way down the corridor to the oak door. Placing the key in the lock, she turns and enters her new place.

As Brie steps into her room, her jaw drops.
"Daddy, you rock. All my old things from my room back in Sunset Valley!"

Brie's eyes are automatically drawn to the purple plush toy on the dresser. She jumps with joy as she makes her way over to it.
"Purpotamus! I forgot all about you! We can do this journey together, huh?"

Turning her attention back over to her dresser, she makes her way over, taking a look at the perfume bottles on the side.
"Classy, I like it."

"I could get use to - wow, I wonder what's through there!"

Brie gets out of her bed and approaches the archway.

She walks into what appears to be a joint kitchen/diner/lounge.
"This place is perfect for me, but wheres the ki -"

Brie stops as she seems to answer her own question.
"I think that'll do nicely"

Brie does a happy dance, as she seems to love her new place.
"I think I'm going to be very happy here!"

Brie wakes at approximately 8.am the next morning, because the sound of the phone ringing echoes around the apartment. Climbing out of bed she walks over to the coffee table.
"Who on earth could be ringing me at this time?!"

"Uh... hello? Brie Rainwater here..."
"BRIE! HI, it's me Maisy. I'm outside, we've got a booking at the spa, my treat!"
"What?! I'm not even dressed!?"

"Well, get dressed then! Come on, or we'll be late!"
"Uh, okay, give me fifteen minutes!"
"Hurry up Brie!"

Maisy waits outside patiently, but twenty five minutes pass.
"What on - WOW!"

Brie arrives out of the lift, dressed in a gorgeous outfit. A newspaper patterned sweater and black skirt, she finishes her look of with some lavender coloured heels.
"I'm ready, shall we get going then?"

Maisy mumbles, evidently speechless. She runs after Brie and the two approach the road. Brie sticks her tanned leg out into the road, so the taxi-driver got a good view of it. Several taxi's screeched to a halt.

The girls clambered into the closest one, and instructed the driver to their location... every girls house of worship... the Spa!

"So, you settled in okay? How was your first night?"
"I don't actually remember, I just completely crashed out."
"Ahaha, I don't blame you. It's tiring, moving to Bridgeport isn't easy."

"I can't wait to get out and see more of the city!"
"Brigeport has tons of opportunities, and has alot of things to offer."
"So... it has vampires?"
"Yes"

Brie stops speaking, as her cell phone begins to ring from a number called 'Unknown'. She places it up to her ear.
"Hello?"
"Did you hear about the ginger ***** who recently moved into town? Oh wait thats YOU!"

"Uh... who's this?"
"Who is it Brie?"
"I dunno, it's Unknown..."

"I know where you live..."
"Brie put the phone down. What did they say?"
"Juts loads of abuse... they know where I live?!"

"Ignore them girl, Bridgeport is full of haters. We'll find out who it is eventually.
"Who would say such hurtful stuff for no reason."
"You'd be suprised. Let me take you out tonight, show you some of the best clubs"

Later that night...

Maisy arrives at Brie's building. She presses the button for room number 14 and calls Brie.
"Hey Brie, I'm here, can you buzz me in please!"

Brie lifts up her cell and speaks into it.
"It's open! Come on up."

"I call it the Maisy.... cocktail.... special?"
"So original, bottoms up!"

Brie downs her drink in one, and whipes it away from her mouth.
"Wow, that's actually quite nice!"

Maisy's cell begins to ring and she walks out into the bedroom to peak out the window.
"Hello Miss, your Taxi is here."
"Brie, it's here, lets go!"
"Let's paint the town red!"

Brie and Maisy leave Brie's apartment in good spirits. Brie is excited for her first night out in Bridgeport, and she's glad she has a good friend like Maisy to spend it with.

"And this is Lorenzo's, the hottest club in Bridgeport tonight!"
"Is my make-up okay, how about my outfit?"

Maisy rolls her eyes, but Brie still looks nervous
"Brie, you look lovely. Come on, the lifts this way."

The access to the lift has been blocked by a blonde figure. With a mean look in her eye, she turns her attention to the girls.
"Nice hair, Maisy, looks like it came from the furrball my kitten coughed up this morning, HA!"

"Wow, so mature Alanna... your hair looks like something that grows on mould that has mould..."
"Yeah, well - "

"I recognise your voice! Your the person who rang me earlier!"
"Got proof? Didn't think so. Now take it up with the care police!"

Maisy seems fed up of this so she decides to put a end to it.
"Alanna, back away from Brie, she's new to the city and she doesn't want you up in her grill!"
"You two girls think your IT..."

Alanna flees the scene, but screeches one last remark before disappearing.
"Watch your back! This isn't the last of this!"

Maisy pulls Brie into a friendly hug. Brie doesn't know what she'd do without Maisy.

The girls step into the lift.
"Next floor... PARTY TIME!"

Maisy turns to Brie as they enter the club.
"I'll go get us some drinks."
"Okay, cool"
"Hey, two KTHXBYE's please!"
"Coming right up!"

Maisy hands Brie her drink, and Brie drinks it all in one.
"Wow, that IS good, I can see myself getting used to this. But I need to start looking for a job!"

Brie and Maisy jump to their feet as the vibrant music begins to erupt around the club.
"I love this song! It was one of my favourites when I was in High School back home!"
"Maisy, help me up on here please!"
"Brie, your crazy!"

Brie mounts the bar, and everyone begins chanting her name.
"GO BRIE, GO BRIE, GO BRIE."

After many hours of partying the club reached closing time.

As Brie wakes up the day after her crazy night in the club, the evil hangover began to kick in. Too much nectar and cocktails, Brie staggers into the kitchen in her pajamas, and pours herself a double latté with cinamon sprinkles.

Brie sits down on her bed with her drink.
"Gosh that's good... wait a minute"

Voices outside can be heard, and Brie stops, recognising that voice.
"It can't be..."

Peeking out the window, Brie looks at what's going on. There appears to be two figures outside her apartment building.
"It is!"

An older woman seems to be arguing with a much younger male.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BRIANNA DOESN'T LEAVE HERE?!"
"I don't know of any Brianna who lives in this building maam, I don't live here myself I..."
"YEAH, I DON'T LIKE YOUR TONE!"

Brie runs to the lift, and jams the button onto Floor 1. She bursts out the doors and runs over to the two.
"MOM! I'm here!"

"Brianna, you look beautiful! I've missed you these past few days!"
"I've missed you too Ma', and I've told you! Call me Brie!"
"Sorry sweethart!"

Dawn releases her daughter. She takes a good look up and down at her and smiles.
"I was so worried when you left for the big city alone, but I know why you did it."
"You do?"
"Where do you think I met your father?"
"You met him here?"
"Sure did, this apartment was our first place together"

Brie turns to the young male, who looks slightly uncomfortable.
"Sorry for my mom, she's not from round here..."
"It's alright."

"I haven't seen you around, where do you live?"
"I live in the building over the road."
"Well, it was nice meeting you...?"
"Justin."

Minutes later back up in Brie's apartment...

"It'll do me for now, there's only me living here!"
"It really is nice to see you again Brie"
"It's weird having to do everthing for myself!"
"Makes a change!"

"How's the job situation going?"
"I haven't even looked yet, do you want something to eat?"

Brie leads her mother into the kitchen area.

Brie rummages through the contents of the fridge, she realises that she should go grocery shopping... soon...
"Are you still on a diet, ma?"

Brie takes a sigh of relief, and walks away from the fridge.
"We don't have any meat anyway, the choice is... mac and cheese or... cheese and mac"

Brie accidently burns the contents of the only food in the fridge.
"Oops... er, ma"

Brie turns to her mother.
"Um... let's eat out tonight, get dressed up and stuff."
"Sounds like a plan, is it alright for me to stop the night?"
"Sure, there's room for you anytime, ma"

Later that night...

Brie and her mother are outside the apartment.
"So... wheres your car?"
"Car? I don't have one. There's only one way to get around the city... TAXI!"

"Classy... you should really get yourself a car, these things can't be safe..."
"You worry too much. Luigi's please!"
"Sure thing"

Brie and Dawn make their way into Luigi's. Whilst waiting in the lobby, Brie spots Justin, her most recent crush.
"Ma, don't look now, but it's Justin."
"It's who?"
"Just... pretend I said something funny!"

Brie's mother looks confused.
"What...?"

Brie nudges her mother, but Dawn is still clueless.
"Just laugh!"
"Why?"
"LAUGH!"

Brie can't even look at Justin, her mother's overeaction was much more than she anticipated for.
"MA! Not that much!!"

Justin begins to walk away.

Brie grits her teeth together, and turns to her mother who still looks like she has no idea what's going on.
"He's never going to speak to me again! I'm humiliated!"

Dawn looks apolagetically to her daughter.
"I'm sorry sweetie, I didn't mean to embarass you"
"It's fine, let's go get something to eat then, I'm starving!"

"Finally, I've waited all day for this!"

As the girls were leaving the restraunt later that night...

Brie's cellphone begins to ring.
"One sec Ma, I've got a call..."

"Maisy... Maisy... calm down! What's wrong?"

Brie's jaw drops.
"Oh my god, are you okay? Did they take much? Everything? I'll be straight round"

"It's your father... he's had a heartattack!"

"What! Is he okay?"
"He's been rushed to hospital, that was your sister on the phone. She's scared, I've gotta go back to Sunset Valley."

"Ma, come here... it's okay. Get a taxi back, I'll lend you some money to pay for it. I'll come back to Sunset Valley to visit dad tomorrow."
"Thanks Brie, I owe you, I hope he's okay."
"Dad's a soldier, and hay, you called me Brie!"
"I'll see you soon Ma"

Fifteen minutes later...

Brie pulls up in a taxi outside Maisy's house.

She rings the doorbell and waits outside.
"Maisy, it's me Brie."
"It's open!"

"Wow... they took... everything..."

Maisy cowers over to Brie, her eyes filled with tears.
"What am I going to do? I have no furniture... no home!"
"You can stay wit - you can stay with me"
