Entered in Unbound comp. Kinda proud of it, I guess... I haven't done any edits in like, BLAH, probably since October or something.

Another random thing, practice at hair drawing and a first attempt at clothes drawing, and jewelry drawing.

I was originally practicing the faking quality, but I got carried away with ideas. I didn't post it on that thread, because in the end, faking quality wasn't my intention.

I tried out some different techniques. The hair was a mixture of many tutorials I've seen. I was going to give her dreadlocks, but decided it might just look cute as cornrows. I think it does.

The clothes was all just freehand with different shades, dodge and burn, and gratuitous use of the smudger.

The straps, I used what I could remember of Bliss's Pearls tutorial [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] off the top of my head... Now that I look at it again, I realize I did it a very different way. XD I used the curves tool to turn the straps into hematite. The ball twists in the hair were made similar, but mostly just freehand.

That's fantastic. Every component is done wonderful, and it all looks amazing.

The cornrows do look really cute. I'd love to see some strands on both sides of the hair though, only the left really has any strands going on.
That top reminds me of one that I think came with LN, but I think I like yours even better.

I can't wait to see more of your work. From the looks of that you're making some fast progress!

Thanks Sydney! :D You're right about the strands, though.

Yeah, I did take some inspiration from the LN top, which I like, but EA's stuff looks really flat to me, so... I rarely use it in pics unless I KNOW I can fix it up. This one, the model just had a bra on, so I was like... meh, let's draw it, why the heck not? Though I think I should have put some more dark in the folds, made them look... more foldy.

ANYWAY.

Haha, Sam went to France and found a parrot. They're so adorable. He brought it back to Bridgeport with him. (That wouldn't fly through customs IRL... no pun intended.) But he hasn't named it yet. Any suggestions?

Fine. The way you draw hair is just so different than everyone else's. Not to mention I really like it...

But I shall wait patiently until the day it arrives. ^.^

Yeah, It's a combination of tips from like a million different tuts, plus a video tut, plus my own tweaks. I like ultra-realistic hair. Well, everything, really. I hear it's painful watching me paint because I'll sit there for half an hour or more on one square inch... LOL This is actually a bit like how I paint hair.

Well the final result is amazing. I've only just started drawing hair...so I still need to develop my own style that works.

Haha, thanks! Will definitely whack together a tutorial at some point for ya.

And yeah, it takes a while. Just be persistent. And keep reading up on what other people do. Once you have the technique down, the style comes out.

The tutorial is in the works. It's about 75% done. Been working on it for about eight hours now. O.o
