Wanna add some awesome streaks? Now you can!
WHAT WE'LL END UP WITH:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Setup
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
(I'm desaturating the sim so that the streaks will really pop; you do not need to do this.
Feel free to use this picture)
Download and Install the brushes.
Define which color you want the streaks to be. Here's mine: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
2. Define the Shape
Create a new layer.
Time to draw the first streak! This is a one-at-a-time project, so I'm only doing 1 streak for the tutorial and you can do the rest ;)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Using the pen tool, draw how you want the first streak to look. Make sure that it follows the line of the hair, or else it will look bad.
3. Making the Streak
Once you have the path the way you want it, go to your brushes and select this one:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
**it really doesn't matter as long as it's a hair brush, but this is what I'm using**
**depending on the size of streak you want, change the size. For this headshot I'm using 1.00**
Now go to Edit > Stroke Path and change the settings to this:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And click Stroke.
You should have a streak!
4. Fixing those ugly ends! D:
Erm... those ends... are bad :( Now pick this brush:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And use the Smudge tool. Opacity should be 100%, and the size should be the same size (or slightly bigger) then the width of the streak.
Smudge those ugly ends into oblivion!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
3 = Smudge these parts like this: Back (1), Forth (2), Back (3)
1 = Smudge this part like this: Back (1)
Change anything else you want to now: opacity, extra smudging, etc.
When you're done, it should look something like this:

Have fun!

It actually works for PS (because PS has the pen tool), but not for elements, which does not have a pen tool :(
