STEP 1

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Determine your palette. Choose 1 base color, then a darker version and a lighter version. This is my palette (dark, light, base)

STEP 2

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Type out your text, then color it to your base color.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Right click your text layer and select Alpha to Selection.

STEP 3

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Create a new layer and fill it with the lighter color.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now move the layer up and over, just so that about half the layer is inside the moving dots.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Gaussian Blur the layer. Depending on the size, the blur radius will change but just blur it slightly to look like shading.

STEP 4

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Create a new layer and repeat with the darker color,

And blur it.

Mess with the opacity to make it look pretty, then merge the two blurred layers together.

STEP 5

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now go to Selection > Invert and hit Delete.

Again, you can change the opacity then then voila! You're done!
